Back in Highschool I used to copy songs from several songhits to a thick notebook. I just look at it and sing one or three songs to relieve me from stress and boredom. It also became my way to get close with my classmates then. Actually, they have known me as "hiraman ng songbook".
In Mornings, as soon as I woke up , I was playing The Carpenters and Bread on our cassette player walang patid! Then in college when Spicegirls, Backstreet Boys, 911 and other boybands had appeared I was watching their videos at MTV. That time I had a crush with Nick Carter and Baby Spice! Cute!
Even at night, I couldn’t sleep if the radio wasn’t on, my sister and I was always stay tuning at KOOL 106 or Mellow Touch till dawn. That’s why I got familiar with couple of love and pop songs and its singers. Challenge me!
There was a time that i joined in a phone-liner club for a non-sense reason, to have a voice mailbox. When I luckily got one, I started my own radio station with my friend, Leslie Ma-L/Obsession that we later named as Music Hotline 2.29. We played as discjockeys and grants some songs requested by our listeners. Worst case scenario, when we felt like singing, we were singing M2M songs like Pretty Boy, Mirror Mirror, Everything You Do, Mirror and all with a dialogue in the intro "Got M2M here as in Maloko (Me) at Malambing…" I don’t know how come that we still have the face to show off..
Oh, that old days!
Now I became worst, I got loud! I go to videoke or KTV bar along with my hubby to show my inner diva!
So, here are some songs which I like to hear over and over again. I sometimes sing these songs in videoke though I don’t have the voice which I can be proud of. But music is for everybody, kahit bata o matanda, mahirap o mayaman, sintonado o magaling bumirit. Alin kaya ko doon? he he…
